Doug Stewart Named to Barron’s Top 1000 U.S. Wealth Managers; #9 in State of Virginia
Stewart honored for exceptional professionalism, client and community service
RICHMOND, VA (April 20, 2010) – Barron’s magazine recently named Fredericksburg’s Douglas G. Stewart as one of 2010’s top 1,000 financial advisors in the United States. Stewart, a managing director with Cary Street Partners, has been ranked ninth on the state-by-state list of top advisors. This award is given every year to acknowledge advisors who have demonstrated not only exceptional professionalism but also outstanding client service and community involvement.
Barron’s is owned by Dow Jones & Company and is considered America’s premier financial magazine. Barron’s annual America’s Top 1,000 Advisors: State-By-Staterankings are based on, among other factors; assets under management, revenue created for their firms, the quality of their practices and the absence of regulatory violations. Investment performance is not an explicit criterion.
This is the first year Stewart has been recognized by Barron’s, but the fourth time he has received national or state recognition. In 1999, he was acknowledged by Registered Representative magazine as one of the Top 10 Brokers in the country. In 2005 and 2006,Virginia Business Magazine recognized Stewart’s inclusion in R. J. Shook’s book, The Winner’s Circle, as one of the Top 5 Financial Advisors in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Stewart works from the Fredericksburg, Virginia office of Cary Street Partners. His former firm, Stewart Wealth Management Group, merged with Cary Street Partners in June of 2007. He is a 1983 graduate of Virginia Tech’s School of Business.
