Chris Walters, CFP®, CIMA® brings to Cary Street 18 years of investment experience to the Abingdon, Virginia location. Prior to joining the firm, he was employed for 16 years as a Senior Vice President-Financial Advisor for Banc of America Investments which recently acquired Merrill Lynch. Previously he served as an employee of the Virginia Governors Office and as an analyst in New York City, New York with Nomura Securities. In addition to holding numerous securities and insurance licenses, Chris attained the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®). He also is a graduate of the Certified Investment Management Analyst Program from the prestigious Wharton School of Business. Chris and his wife are active community leaders and he currently serves on the boards of The Barter Theatre, and the Washington County Public Library Foundation. He is also a founding member of the Southwest Virginia Technology Council and the Barters "Green Room Society". Recently Chris was appointed to the Johnston Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. Chris is a 1991 graduate of the College of William and Mary. A native of Wytheville, Virginia, Chris resides in Abingdon with his wife Elizabeth, an attorney, and their three children. |
